Q: How much produce is included my CSA box each week?
A: CSA shares include $20 worth of produce each week or about 6-8 different items.
Q: Will I get to choose what's in my CSA box each week?
A: Yes, you will have the opportunity to log into your online account each week and customize your box. Orders must be customized when the Virtual Farmer's Market is open between 12 noon on Saturday and 12 noon on Monday. Members must select $20 worth of produce each week.
Q: Can I add more produce or other "extras" (eggs, meat, baked goods, etc) to my share?
A: Additional produce and "extras" may be purchased on a pay-as-you-go basis in the Virtual Farmer's Market when available.
Q: Where and when do you deliver? How much does it cost?
A: We deliver to all of Pitt County on Wednsedays between 3-6pm. The cost of delivery is included in the price of CSA membership ($10/season).. Delivery for non=members placing "guest orders" in the Virtual Farmer's Market is $5 per delivery (delivery is free for guest orders over $30).
Q: Do I need to be home when my order is delivered?
A: No, you do not have to be home when we deliver your order. We strongly suggest you leave a cooler (with an icepack) for us to leave your order if you will not be home when we deliver, especially in the Spring & Summer. If you do not leave a cooler for us to pack your order, Locavore Market can not be held responsible for the condition of your order upon your return..
Q: What happens when I go out of town or on vacation?
A: Members may place their subscription on hold by logging into their online account. While your subscription is on hold, you will not receive delivery and your account will not be charged. Vacation holds must be submitted no later than 12 noon on Monday prior to your regularly scheduled delivery. You may use your vacation credits to add extra produce to your share upon your return. All vacation credits must be used prior to the end of the season.
Q: Can I save my leftover farm credits from my vacation and apply them to the next season? Can I use leftover farm credits to purchase other products in the Virtual Farmer's Market?
A: No; all farm credits must be used by the end of the season. Members will not be allowed to save credits to use during the next season.. Credits leftover from your vacation must be used on produce only. Additional products (eggs, meat, baked goods, etc) are available for purchase in the Virtual Farmer's Market on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Q: I would prefer to receive a CSA box every other week. Is it possible to get bi-weekly delivery?
A: Bi-Weekly delivery is also available. You may sign up for a half-share and you'll receive a box every other week for 6 weeks.
Q: Do I have to pay the total membership fee at once?
A: If you are unable to pay the entire cost of membership at once, we may break it into two installments, There will be a $10 service fee for this payment option. Please contact us to set up a payment plan.
Q: Do I have to become a member of the CSA in order to purchase products in the Virtual Farmer's Market?
A: No, non-members may place "guest orders" in the Virtual Farmer's Market whenever extra products are available. Keep in mind that CSA members get first priority, therefore the quantity and variety of products available to non-members is very limited and may not be available every week (especially in the early Spring & Fall). Delivery for non-members is $5 per order or free for orders over $30.
Q: Do I have to make an online payment? Can I pay by check instead?
A: The preferred method of payment for CSA membership is online using your Debit/Credit Card or PayPal account. However, if you are not comfortable submitting your credit card information over the internet, we can accept checks for CSA memberships only. (All guest orders must be paid online at the time the order is placed.)
