Q: How much produce is included my CSA box each week?
A: Members receive $20 in farm credits to spend in the webstore each week they are scheduled for delivery. This usually comes out to be about 6-8 different items. You may purchase more than the $20 minimum and the total will simply be subtracted from your account balance (for seasonal & monthly members).
Q: Will I get to choose what's in my CSA box each week?
A: Yes, you will have the opportunity to log into your online account each week and customize your box. Orders must be customized when the Virtual Farmer's Market is open between 12 noon on Saturday and 12 noon on Monday. There is a $20/week minimum order required.
Q: What happens if I forget to log into my account to customize my order? Will I still receive a box that week?
A: Seasonal & Monthly members automatically receive a box each week they are scheduled for delivery. If you forget to login and customize your box, the market will make a selection for you. Weekly members, on the other hand, must log in and place an order in order to receive delivery.
Q: Can I add more produce or other "extras" (eggs, meat, baked goods, etc) to my share?
A: Yes, in addition to produce we also offer other local products including eggs, meat, goat cheese, whole grains, healthy snacks & prepared foods, & more! You may add this items to your box whenever they are available.
Q: Where and when do you deliver? How much does it cost?
A: We deliver to most areas of Pitt County on Wednesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays from 12-2pm (office deliveries) and 2-6pm (home deliveries). The cost of delivery is included in the price of CSA membership. Seasonal members pay $15/season for delivery. Monthly members pay $3/week & Weekly members pay $4/week.
Q: Do I need to be home when my order is delivered?
A: No, you do not have to be home when we deliver your order. We ask that you leave a cooler (with an icepacks) for us to leave your order if you will not be home when we deliver, especially in the Spring & Summer. If you do not leave a cooler for us to pack your order, Locavore Market can not be held responsible for the condition of your order.
Q: What happens when I go out of town or on vacation?
A: Members may place their subscription on hold by logging into their online account. Vacation holds must be submitted no later than 12 noon on Monday prior to your regularly scheduled delivery. While your subscription is on hold, you will not receive delivery and your account will not be charged. You may use your vacation credits to add extra produce to your share upon your return. All vacation credits must be used prior to the end of the season--they will not be refunded nor do they rollover to the next season.
Q: Can I save my leftover farm credits from my vacation and apply them to the next season?
A: No; all farm credits must be used by the end of the season. Members will not be allowed to save credits to use during the next season and no refunds will be issued.
Q: I would prefer to receive a CSA box every other week. Is it possible to get bi-weekly delivery?
A: Yes, Bi-Weekly delivery is also available.
Q: Do I have to pay the total membership fee at once?
A: If you are unable to pay the entire cost of membership at once (seasonal membership), you may select from either the monthly or weekly membership plans.

Q: Do I have to make an online payment? Can I pay by check instead?
A: The preferred method of payment for CSA membership is online using your Debit/Credit Card or PayPal account. However, if you are not comfortable submitting your credit card information over the internet, we can accept checks for seasonal & monthly memberships only. Contact Us for our mailing address. (All weekly orders must be paid online by midnight on Monday.)
