CSA Policies & Procedures
Delivery Area/Day/Time: Our delivery area includes all of Pitt County. All deliveries are made on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 3-6pm.

Managing your Account: You may log in to your account & make any necessary changes by clicking on "Member Login" located in the top right corner of our website. This is where you go to change your contact information, view your order history, & to place a vacation hold on your account.
Customizing your Order: To customize your box you will need to log in to the Virtual Farmer's Market each week between 12 noon on Saturday & 12 noon on Monday. When you log in, you will see all of the available items listed to the right of the screen. You must select a minimum of $20 worth of produce in order to check out. To remove items from your box click on the X to the right of the item you wish to remove. If you do not log in to customize your box, we will make a selection for you (unless you have activated a vacation hold).
Vacation Holds: When you place a vacation hold on your account, you will not receive delivery that week nor will your account be charged. Vacation holds must be placed by noon on Monday prior to your scheduled delivery day. You may place as many vacation holds as you like, however, you must usee all of your leftover farm credits up before the end of the season. Farm credits will no longer roll over from one season to the next.
Adding extra produce to your order: If you would like to order extra produce in addition to your weekly $20 fruit and vegetable allowance provided by the CSA (and you don't have any unused farm credits leftover from vacation), you may do so on a pay-as-you-go basis by placing an order in the Virtual Farmer's Market (when available).
Meat CSA: The Meat CSA with Nooherooka Natural consists of three monthly deliveries of pasture-raised beef & pork (& possibly one (1) free-range chicken). Deliveries will be made on April 4th, May 2nd, & June 13th. The meat CSA cannot be customized--the farm selects which products will be included in your share each month. However, please let us know if you prefer beef or pork only due to dietary restrictrictions.
Boxes: We ask that you return your empty produce box each week. Simply set out your empty box from the previous week's delivery and we'll pick it up when we drop off your order. Each member will be assigned two boxes to rotate for their deliveries. If we do not receive your box back, your order will be delivered in paper or plastic bags until the boxes are returned.
Coolers/Icepacks: Especially in the Spring and Summer, we ask that ALL members leave out a cooler (with an icepack) for us to leave your order if you will not be home when we deliver. If you do not leave out a cooler (with an icepack), Locavore Market will not be liable for the condition of your products upon your return.
Product Substitutions: We try to honor personal prefreneces whenever possible, however, there are times when the farmer falls short on a specific product (whether due to pests, weather, or some other unforseen circumstance). The farms may substitute produce with an item of equal or greater value whenever there is a harvest shortage. Substitutions, when necessary, will be noted on your box's packing label.
Refunds/Cancellations: Our farmers depend on your commitment to the CSA in order to plan and prepare for the upcoming season. Therefore, we encourage prospective members to find out more about CSA's and make sure its a good fit before deciding to join. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. We take great pride in our farms' products and will do whatever we can to make our members happy. If you need to cancel your weekly order and place a vacation hold on your account, please do so by the weekly order deadline (noon on Mondays).
